Truist is hiring an Environmental and Climate Program- Reporting Manager in Atlanta, GA, to lead energy and GHG emissions calculations. The role involves data analysis, monitoring real estate energy use, verifying utility data, and preparing reports. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience, and strong skills in Excel and communication. The position is full-time and requires collaboration with internal and external partners.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
1. Calculate Truist's energy use and Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions using location- and market-based methods.
2. Monitor Truist's real estate portfolio and incorporate changes into energy and GHG emissions calculations.
3. Verify accuracy of energy-related data from utility records and integrate this information into GHG emissions calculations.
4. Improve data collection and calculations for energy and GHG emissions from various sources, such as vehicles and generators.
5. Drive continuous improvement of data completeness, quality, processes, and integration across internal and external partners.
6. Prepare energy and Scope 1+2 GHG information for internal and external reporting needs.
7. Manage internal risk, controls, and validation processes, as well as third-party verification.
8. Document all Scope 1+2 GHG calculation processes for internal and external review.
9. Lead internal and external partners in calculating water consumption for Truist facilities.
10. Support efforts to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions through energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2. 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. In-depth knowledge within own professional discipline.
4. Solid understanding of energy and electric power concepts, GHG calculation methodologies, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and CDP.
5. Proven abilities in Excel.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and explain complex information to various audiences.
7. Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of voluntary GHG disclosure standards and mandatory GHG disclosures.
2. Previous experience in banking, particularly in reporting, systems, technology, data, risk, compliance, or related areas.
3. Relevant professional or technical certifications.
4. Experience with integrating data into enterprise data systems and leveraging programming languages and tools.
