Civil Engineer - Construction Services

Clark Dietz is seeking a Civil Engineer for their Northern IL Construction Team in Villa Park, IL. We currently have an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Northern IL Construction Team. The selected candidate will provide construction phase engineering services to the IL Tollway, IDOT, county and municipal clients.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provides observation and inspection of critical elements during road, bridge, and utility construction.
• Interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts.
• Maintains project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals.
• Assists with material testing procedures.
• Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications.
• Works collaboratively with all project stakeholders (client, contractor, sub-consultants) and interacts with the public and officials to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.

Position Requirements
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required; EIT is desired.
• Previous experience performing inspection and documentation for civil infrastructure projects for local, county or state agencies.
• Familiarity with IL Tollway materials and documentation procedures and/or IDOT documentation procedures is desired.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) is required.
• Experience with e-Builder, Primavera, CMMS, Fieldsys, MISTIC, and I-MIRS is desired.
• Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and GPS equipment is desired.
• Ability to maintain detailed daily logs and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and follow through on tasks to completion with limited oversight.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites and work extended hours as needed.
