Role Overview:

The Climate Risk and Emissions Analyst will provide critical analytical support to the bank's Risk function by analyzing environmental data, industry trends, and the bank's financed emissions. The role will involve developing models and scenario analyses to support the bank's emissions reduction strategy in alignment with regulatory requirements (such as the UAE Climate Decree, NDC commitments, and Decarbonization Plan). This role will also help ensure that climate risk analytics are integrated effectively into the bank's Risk Department's strategic objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Support carbon footprint modelling and scenario analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
• Collect, validate, and analyze environmental data related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across various industries (e.g., steel, cement, aluminium, petrochemicals, fertilizers, aviation, transportation, power generation).
• Conduct data analysis to identify emissions trends, risks, and opportunities for reduction.
• Assist in the development of emissions reduction pathways and action plans.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure data alignment with leading climate reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, GRI, ISSB).
• Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports for leadership, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy, and integrity across reporting cycles.
• Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, emerging trends, and best practices in climate data management and sustainability reporting.
• Develop and maintain climate risk models using tools such as Python or SAS.

Key Requirements:
• MSc/MBA, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
• SCR Certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in climate risk analysis, emissions modelling, sustainability reporting, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python or SAS for data modelling and analysis.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Knowledge of climate-related disclosure frameworks such as CDP, TCFD, GRI, and ISSB.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and present findings to diverse stakeholders.
